Downtown Girl Shira Goldberg
Songstress/Neighborhood Girl/Musical Entrepreneur
When I first met Shira she was hanging outside Piano's on the Ludlow Street talking to a few friendly rock n roll friends we had in common. She had just left work and I convinced here to come into music venue The Living Room to watch The Pierces perform. So she came in with me we drank some wine and watched the coolest Indie Rock Folk Pop performance on the Lower East Side. Later on I went on to hook Shira up with singing her songs and playing her tunes for a cool B-list fashion show in Williamsburg! We've been casual pals since. Meet Shira Goldberg!

"My Heart is Full of Lightning' is the name of the record and it's pretty much all in the title. It's about learning who you are and longing for more. It's also about heartbreak and redemption and how life can be really hard but so worth it and satisfying too.

-Who and What inspires you?
Wow, that is an intense question. Inspiration can come from anywhere for me...I'm lucky to be part of an amazing community of musicians and artists in New York and their passion and talent definitely drives me. I also find it in little day to day things, a subway ride, a weird dream, a movie, books, blogs and of course love and heartbreak. Sometimes the most random events and conversations can spark it....sometimes it seems to come out of the thin air....I think it isn't about looking for inspiration in specific things but being open to inspiration in anything

Annie Clark from St. Vincent
Who is the Hottest Guy in NYC?

Rodrigo Amarante from Little Joy is gorgeous and has that amazing Brazilian accent. (I'm totally incriminating myself here...)
